I was hoping things between Lefty and Scott McCarron would blow over but McCarron won’t let it go so I feel I have to discuss it. Continue reading
Lefty returns this week at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines and I have to say I can’t contain my excitement. My expectations haven’t been this high in a long time and why shouldn’t they be? Phil finished 2009 playing great mainly due to his putter and he’s put in a lot of work over the off season to improve. Winning 5 or 6 tournaments and 2 majors is not out of the realm of possibility as far as I’m concerned.
At Arizona State Phil used Ping Eye2 irons and wedges so it’s not a shock that he’s been experimenting with the pre 1990 Ping Eye2 wedges which have “U” grooves. Still no word if he’ll use them this week, we’ll keep you posted. He has also been hitting a 6 degree FT9 Callaway driver, I have never seen a pro use that little loft, will be interesting to hear Phil discuss both of these at his press conference on Wednesday.
I will have my picks for the Farmers Insurance Open on Wednesday on twitter. I will NOT be picking Phil to win, it’s a given I hope he wins so I will give other options.

With the first full field tournament, The Sony Open, starting on Thursday I thought this was a great time to put my predictions out there and see what you all think. With so many variables, this could be a tough year dissecting the world of golf Continue reading
Like many of you I look forward to the Golf Digest Hot List to see what are the new trends in golf equipment. They do a great job in highlighting where equipment is headed and I like that. When it comes to the actual evaluation of the clubs I cannot help but think things aren’t as unbiased as they suggest. Continue reading
