2010 PGA Season Finally Begins in Hawaii

Is it just me or has this off season seemed longer than any other?  With Lefty ending 2009 so hot I’ve been dying for the year to start and see if he can continue his hot play (and hot putting!)

The first event is the SBS Championship in Maui but will be without Phil and Tiger.  No matter I’m looking forward to the season kicking off and MAYBE the media will begin talking about golf instead of Tiger’s off the course issues.

For those of you who play fantasy golf or like to place a small wager on the tournament I like Stewart Cink and Steve Stricker and as a sleeper I can see Martin Laird in contention late Sunday as well.  I will post my picks every week so come back and let me know what you think.

*Phil Update: My insiders tell me Phil is enjoying his family in So Cal this week while working on his short game with Dave Pelz and Dave Stockton.  Rumor has it Phil has been having putting contests with Stockton and they are wagering on the outcome.  Phil must be feeling good about his putting if he’s betting with one of the all time greats Dave Stockton, this is a great sign for the 2010 season.

Amen to getting the season underway so we can talk about something other than Tiger’s antics. I can’t wait to see Phil back out there. Hope he has a great year.
